This week was supperrr good. One of the biggest highlights was the earthquake that happened. I have always wanted to experience and earthquake and it finally happened. I woke up at about 2:20 in the morning on Saturday and the house was just shaking and the windows were super loud, lasted maybe 5 seconds and then it was done. I was hyped.
We had Elder Hamilton of the Seventy come to visit us for stake conference, he gave a super good talk! He talked a lot about missionary work, prayer, and sacrifice, it was just a super cool experience.
Manamea got baptized!! It was my first time doing a baptism in an outdoor font which was pretty cool. Last Saturday night I got a call from Faaliliu, who is the lady we met on the road and was absolutely golden. She said that her family forbid her from getting baptized. She kept going on and on about how much she loves the church and the Book of Mormon but can't come to church and get baptized. I was sooooo sad. For reals one of the saddest things on this mission. She said we can still try and meet at this members house in secret haha. We are waiting for her husband to get home from American Samoa and then they will probably move to a different village so she and her kids can get baptized. It is cool she is willing to make that sacrifice, but we will see what continues to happen in the future.
We have 3 baptisms this week with Whita and Ivi, and Ten. Whita and Ivi are going to get married on Saturday morning then baptized after. It has been so cool to see these investigators progress and feel the spirit. It is such a privilege to see the change these people make in their lives.
Last cool thing we did this week was a super cool service project for a lady in our ward. It was about half of our zone and President Hannemann and his wife. We went over to this families house where the dad is super sick and we just cleaned up the house so much. For reals, it took all of us over 5 hours it was so much stuff we took out. Then we drove all of it to the landfill. I never want to go back to a landfill in my life, it almost ruined Samoa for me. They dont really bury anything they just leave it all out, I have seriously never smelt anything worse in my life. HORRIBLE. It was a super good service project though and president bought us all food after which is always great.
The work moves forward!
