Chief Problems

I have figured out this past week that the work is harder in this area than I thought for 1 reason-the High Chiefs. We cover 7 villages in our area, but only in one village are people allowed to convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In all the villages you can literally convert to any other church, just not the true church I guess. We have found so many prepared people but just wont get baptized because they would get kicked out of the village. Other villages have rules of paying between $300-$800 dollars to the village to convert to this church. This island is crazy.

Life is really good out here though, we have 2 baptisms this next week for these kids. One of these kids was just an absolute miracle from the Lord. She went to her primary baptism but when as they were filling out her paper they figured out she is actually 9 years old, long story short she will be a convert baptism this week haha. Her name is Seepa, look below for a picture. The church is true and I am so happy to be where I am and doing what I
am doing!

Fasioti le puaa

That means murder the pig. My companion ran over a pig my first night here with the car. Seriously pigs and horses just run everywhere here its crazy. This first week in Savaii has been such a crazy experience! Way different from American Samoa. We legit starve all day not eating because we can't buy anything. Every store only has crackers and if your lucky some ramen noodles. Can't even buy bread for reals. Then we show up for our dinner appointment and there will be a legit massive pig just placed in front of us and we sit on mats and eats with our bare hands lol. It is the life.

The first couple days of proselyting were super hard especially trying to get this area jump started again. We had miracles yesterday though and found some people ready to get baptized! The work is moving forward and it is soooo beautiful here! I am loving the mission so much!!

President Nelson came and gave a wonderful talk to the people of Samoa! Such a special time for us. He also did a broadcast for all the missionaries in the Pacific which was super cool. I just feel so blessed for everything the Lord has given me!

I ate Dog and I am in SAVAII!!!!!

I was at church in the Tongan ward and someone mentioned that they had ate dog last night, we asked if we could come over after church and try it, so we did. We showed up and they literally threw a cold dog leg on a plate in front of me. Honestly, it wasn't too bad, it was just the skin that was nasty. Just like rubber. I asked where they got the dog from...apparently they found it on the side of the road from getting hit by a car lololol. I love Tongans.

I got transferred to Savaii!!!!!!! Man I was sooooo surprised to get transferred. The zone we cover is the north part of the island and kind of the backside as well. It is sooooo different here from American Samoa. It is absolutely beautiful. We had dolphins swim next to our boat on the way here it was dope. But for reals this island is so cool, the culture is definitely way more strong and no one knows how to speak English, including my companion haha. I am so happy to be here!!! Also, the prophet comes this week, unfortunately I wont see in him in real life, but will see him on tv!

Family Baptism!!!!!!!!

This week was sooooo awesome! The Tuitele famly got baptized, man it was such a special experience. God is so good! The spirit was so strong at their baptism and their confirmations as well. I wish I had pictures but I forgot my camera today so going to have to wait till next week!

Other than that all is good here in Tutuila! The work is moving forward! We had some transfers yesterday in our zone and I think the zone is really going to progress as well. I can't believe how fast time is going, but I freaking love Samoa so much. S/O to my mom this week for mothers day! The true GOAT and Raccoon!!

We ran a mountain

This morning me and my companion ran up a mountain. It was probably one of the hardest things I have done on my mission straight up. I remember doing hill workouts for Cross Country, this mountain is like 20 of those hills. Straight up was horrible. It was really cool from the top though.

The work is moving forward!! Joshua, Fale, and their 11 year old daughter Amelia will all be baptized this week!! SO EXCITED! Jay will also be baptized in a couple weeks with some other people. We are teaching an Indian friend named Manish! This guy moved straight from India like 1 month ago and is straight golden. He isn't from a Christian background, he is actually Hindu. But he wants to learn so bad and be a member of the church, Great guy. We have been so blessed to be teaching so many great friends. The mission is the best!
