We found a High Chief

This week was a pretty dang awesome week. Hana got married, and she is all set to get baptized this Saturday! We also found some also knew friends, both of which are miracles! I'll talk about 2 of them. The first one is a Matai, or a High Chief our in Savaii. His name is Tavu'i. He is like 80 years old and we met him doing a split with the ward mission leader. We brought him to the Visitors Center and talked about the temple and eternal families. He just says "I want to be baptized". Straight up. Me and my comp just look at each other. Let's just say that is exactly what you want.

The other one was a referral we got from the bishop. We go and visit this family that is strong in the church and comes to church every week. Except the 13 year old daughter just never got baptized. I have know idea how things like this even happen. She said she moved when she turned 8 and they didn't know what ward they were in at first and just forgot about getting her baptized haha. We almost just went ahead and did the baptism this Saturday but we pushed it back to next week. Miracle!

Other fun things, I ate shark for the first time, it was superrrrrr good. Also, like over half of our zone is sick so we have made like 8 trips to the hospital this past week. Luckily not me getting sick. We also have a friend named Sera getting baptized this week! She is soooooo prepared makes me so happy!

LETS HAVE A PARTY

So we got invited to a birthday party and one of our investigators was going to be there. We got permission from out President to travel outside our zone to the...SHERATON! I ate 5 star food, also I was on an elevator for the first time on in Samoa it was so dope. Seriously so much food all you can eat and it was like honey mustard ham, sirloin steak, potato salad, and probably the best cake I have ever had in my life. Nice to get a break from the rice and taro and fried chicken hahaha.

Also this week we had 3 baptisms! Sam, Hito, and Tau all got baptized! That family has been so fun to work with, we have been doing Family Home Evenings almost every night. The father of the family is getting baptized next month. We are just waiting for 2 divorces...so we will see when everything actually happens.

I got my pictures to work this week, so here is the past two weeks! Hope everyone has an awesome week!

Elder Ardern

This morning we went to the office to go do our PDAY chores we have to do every week. We were just talking to President and this guy in a suit comes up and President goes "Oh hey Elder Ardern". I look at him and realize it looks just like the picture of the area presidency we have on the wall. So ya I guess he came to be at his grand-daughters wedding but is staying at the mission office in the General Authority Room...because you know...he is a general authority. IT was really cool though we were actually able to have a conversation with him and asked him some questions. Let's just say this guy knows what he is talking about. Defiantly an awesome and spiritual experience.

Our 2 baptisms happened with Jack and Fuatino! It was so awesome! Basically the whole ward showed up, such an awesome baptism. Every time we see Jack working he is reading his Book of Mormon, makes my heart so happy. We have 3 baptisms this week with a family! These are 3 kids that are 16,18, and 19. We have been doing FHE's like every night and they are awesome. They are soooo ready and prepared.

I am so happy and blessed to be serving this mission. I know God loves all of us and has a plan for every single person on this earth.

Sorry fellas only 1 pic this week, hopefully more next week.

Ohhhhhh We're Halfway there, Ohhhh Living on a Prayer

I can't believe tomorrow is my one year mark! This year has gone by soooooo fast. I can't wait for what this next year has in store. This last week was really awesome, Maina got baptized! Her baptism was awesome, I was able to do the baptism and the bishop filled the font it was literally like 1 and a half feet deep. We made it work though, didn't have to redo it which is always good. Right before her baptism we found a 10 year old girl that also lives at the house that isnt baptized. Needless to say she will be baptized this Saturday. Our friend, Jack will also be baptized! Jack works security for the Church's compound here and he is probably one of the most prepared people I have been able to teach. He is sooooo set. Jack will keep any invitation we put in his way. The Lord has truly prepared him.

This week we have seen a lot of success, and things keep going well in this area. We have MLC tomorrow with President which is our first one. I think we will really see how this mission is going to be in the future so I am pretty excited. My very first family(Aiga and Samuelu) I ever taught which was in my first area got baptized last week! Im hyped. Not a whole lot else going on in this beautiful island!

It's Hot Here

This week was so awesome, the weeks just keep going by so fast. Last week we had 3 baptisms! Siala, Angelo, and Nuuese all were baptized. That made Saturday a pretty awesome day. We have found a couple new people this week, but really busy doing other things like chores for the office and splits with other missionaries and what not. Haven't had a whole lot of time spent in our own area.

Last Sunday we were visiting other missionaries in the zone and we got a call from the AP's and the whole mission just had a lot of transfers on Monday. Literally over half of our zone got transferred. It was really sad saying bye to some of these great Elders. Below are lots of pics.

During the transfers we had to drop off an elder at the airport to go to American Samoa, well we missed the flight so his next one was an hour and a half later. We called President and he let us all go chill at McDonalds, breakfast has never been so good.

Also, I am now a licensed driver in the great country of Samoa for the next 5 years. And this new music has been amazing to listen too. And we only cover 5 wards instead of 8!
